A great overview of the topic

This book, while brief, will give non-Roman Catholics (and even some Catholics) insight into the role Mary plays in salvation. As another reviewer states, this book includes extensive quotes from saints and Doctors of the Church. It is best to show what the Church really teaches on an issue by letting them speak, and Dr. White is always very fair in this regard. If you're interested in the topic of Mary Co-Redemptrix, read this book.

A look into the ultra-Marian sect

This book is not about the average Roman Catholic. It is about the evolution of the Marian dogmas; and this includes the ultra-Marian sect that exists today.James White is hated amongst Roman Catholics because of his extensive Protestant Apologetics ministry. All of his books have been spammed by RC's because they do not like him. The very fact that not all Early Church Fathers held the views of the Marian doctrines proves that it evolved overtime. We must remember that the Early Church Fathers were not laymen. They were spiritual leaders; and in some cases canonized saints(!) Lots of Roman Catholics have disdain for White's opinions; but I truely wonder how many of them can refute him.

Great Critique

Do we not understand the Truth? Mary is not another Redeemer. We look to Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. It was Christ who took our sins on the cross and shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins. Not Mary. She was a sinner in need of a Savior. The Scriptures teach that the just shall live by faith, not by some co-mediatrix, called Mary. Highly recommended!!!

The Mary of Roman Catholicism: Not the Mary of the Bible

If you are a Roman Catholic, you will not like this book. You will be critical of its contents and its author. After all, the Roman Catholic mantra is: We do not worship Mary. She is not Divine. But is this true? Let's look at the parallels that Dr. White presents between Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the Mary of Roman Catholicism: 1) The Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus was predestined to be the Redeemer. Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary was predestined to be Redemptrix.2) The Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus was born of a virgin. Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary was immaculately conceived.3) The Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus is the Incarnate Deity, the Son of God, in human flesh. Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit. 4) The Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus was without sin. Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary was without sin.5) The Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus suffered and died at Calvary. Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary suffered and almost died at Calvary. 6) The Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus ascended into heaven. Roman Catholicism teaches that Mary was assumed bodily into heaven.7) The Lord Jesus is the King of heaven. The Mary of Roman Catholicism is the Queen of heaven.8) The Lord Jesus is our Source of Grace. The Mary of Roman Catholicism is the Channel of Grace.9) The Lord Jesus is our Peace with God. The Mary of Roman Catholicism is the Treasurer of our Peace with God.10) The Lord Jesus is our Redeemer, Mediator, and Advocate. The Mary of Roman Catholicism is Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate. Thank you Dr. White for an extraordinary book! Perhaps you could rename the book: The 10 Commandments of Mariology.

Documents the facts about Catholic beliefs extremely well.

This book actually shocked me. Having been a Catholic at one time I didn't realize the full extent of the teachings of the Catholic Church concerning Marian beliefs. For those of you who are Protestant, there is some material in here that you may find offensive (as the author warns), but it is worth the risk to truly understand the issues. All of the explanations about Catholic beliefs are taken directly from Papal pronouncements and Church endorsed writing by various authors. At least 40% of this book is comprised of lengthy quoted materials. For anyone, Catholic or not, who wants to know what the Catholic Church teaches about Mary, this book is an excellent resource. It will open your eyes and really make you think.
