To be honest, I'm not an official fan of Ted Nugent and previously didn't know a thing about the whole Nugent Empire, so this review is about as objective as it gets. I picked this book up out of curiosity, not sure what I'd find. Scandal? Sermons? Grandstanding? A recipe for Squirrel? Nope. Instead I found a woman who is not that unlike most of us wives who get caught up in the lives of their husbands. She even mentions at one point feeling like she lost herself, and that was something I could identify with. What's admirable is that she has without question found herself again. Granted, she's still part of the strong ocean current that is Ted Nugent, but she was smart enough to learn along the journey and come out better for it. Now she's a woman simultaneously humbled and strengthened by adversity who has a clear view of her priorities. She's gone from a girl swept away to a force to be reckoned with. So impressed was I that I'm kicking around the idea of participating in the Nugents' Queen of the Forest program. Keep in mind that I'm pretty far from a God-fearing Christian (Agnostic hippie), nor do I think I can willfully kill an animal without fainting, but reading Shemane's book peaked my interest...gave me a little something to think about. I believe I could learn from her. :o)

Hey guys/gals - Sheman Nugent deserves a medal for this one - bullseye! Great and insightful read. Not a boring page here. I have been a Ted Nugent fan for (gulp!) 20-odd years (I just cant say 30 years) and have enjoyed his raunchy-rantings, ballistic-babbling & snotty-snorting. Mrs. Nugent get us behind the spirit-of-the-wild and reveals the Nugents' quite human conflicts & their ability to resolve them through dedication, committment & love. A great read!
Awesome book!

I have read many books from Ted and Shemane, this rates right up there, if you are looking for something you can really sit down and get into, I would suggest this book. When I read this book, I felt like I must have been reading a different book than the one described in other reviews here.
Brutal Honesty

Shemaine is very candid, yet makes it clear that rock 'n' roll marriages can work, if each partner is commited to it. Her book is not written out of the need to draw attention to her or her husband's fame, but to be a help to those who may soon face the struggles she and Ted have faced, such as infidelity and the angst of a sometimes long distance relationship. It is entertaining, yet poignant. Highly recommended for both rock stars and just us normal folks who are trying to make a marriage work.
