I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy and Neal Heskin many years ago when my husband and I made a Marriage Encounter Weekend. They are a wonderful couple and I am inspired by her book. I plan on purchasing the book for my 3 married children as part of their Christmas gift.
Marriage: A Spiritual Journey

It is refreshing to hear how Kathy and Neil handled different circumstances, many which were so similar to what we have experienced in our 26 years of marriage. Truly their faith guided them along the way. The fact that I know Kathy and have met Neil and some other family members made this all the more interesting. I laughed, I cried and I learned. This was such a great read that I have shared the book with two of my children who are engaged to be married within the year. Kathy's "words of wisdom" are a welcome resource.
Engaged- Preparing for the Journey

My fiance and I read this book together and used the questions at the end of each chapter to start deep discussions about our ideas for our future together. Some of the questions don't apply to us right now (because we aren't yet married and don't have kids) but we look forward to reading the book many more times, at different stages of our life journey. I enjoyed the book's conversational style and humor which make it easy to identify with the author.
A Journey worth taking

Marriage, A Spiritual Journey is just that, a journey describing wonderful down to earth stories that are real and you can see happening in anyone's life. Kathy doesn't preach, and she doesn't say it is always easy, but through stories, she offers many ways to see how marriage can make the journey so much easier, happier and loving, bringing God along for the journey. This book is easy to read, down to earth, upbeat, practical and oh, so positive for anyone to pick up. It doesn't make any difference what age you are, whether you are newly married or seasoned veterans, there is something (probably lots of things)in this book that will help make your marriage better.
Insight into what Married Life Can Be
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
We all come into life with different baggage, some good, some bad. How we handle this baggage is key to a successful marriage. In MARRIAGE, A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY, Kathy Heskin shared the ups and downs of her marriage with her husband, Neil and through laughter and tears gives solutions through, common sense and spiritituality, on how to get through the difficult times. While reading this book, I was able to see some of the pitfalls that I had experienced in my early years of marriage with my first husband (now deceased) and now understand even more clearly what caused these pitfalls. I garnished some great ideas that I will apply to my marriage today with my present husband as we enjoy our golden years together. It was easy, enjoyable reading and I plan to pass this book on to our married children and other friends. It is a very helpful tool, especially to the young married couples.
