Somewhat scattered but so worth it!

This book is wonderful. I feel it could have used further editing though. For instance in the middle of the "dry mix" section there is a recipe that does not make a dry mix. In the freezer recipe section there are recipes with no freezing options. I guess it gives it a real down-home feel to say essentially "here's how to evaluate recipes for ease of conversion to a dry mix, and here is one that didn't work", but someone who...

Fantastic book--if you cook you need this!

This is an excellent book! The section on substitutions alone makes the book worthwhile, it is the most comprehensive I have ever seen. This book has great recipes, showing you that just a little effort in advance will save you much time, money and possibly fat later. I recommend this book to every cook!

A must-have book for the everyday cook!!

This book is must-have for all but the thinnest and wealthiest of people. It has not only changed the way I cook, but the way I look at convenience foods and the dollars I spend in the grocery store. Every person should have a copy of this book when they begin their own cooking and budgeting. I plan to give a copy to each of my children as they leave home.
