Loved it!

I'm normally lukewarm about paranormals that incorporate Greek mythology. Half the time, they seem to just come off cheesy. Not so with Naughton's Eternal Guardians - they are hot, hot, hot...and the story is incredibly romantic, if a little predictable. I found myself salivating over the Argonauts and Nick, a half-breed who I really hope will get his story too. I found myself salivating over the Argonauts and Nick, a half-breed who I really hope will get his story too. The Gods are portrayed just as I've always imagined them (petty and juvenile for the most part), and her descriptions left me with a clear vision of what each of the three "planes" of reality in the story look and feel like. I felt like I was there, watching the whole thing. Another paranormal series I'll be reading to the end - and a must-read for anyone who likes paranormal romance, IMO.

Surprisingly good.

this was the first book I have read by this author. I say surprisingly good because of all the crap that has hit the shelves and consiquently my kindle. this book was rather intertaining, and it had heart.

Excellent Start to a New Series ~~~ 5 Stars.

I was first introduced to this author by reading her Stolen Trilogy (Stolen Fury, Stolen Heat & Stolen Seduction) - I read these books at the recommendation of a friend. This trilogy is exciting, full of adventure and romance. I recommend you check out this series as well. Marked, the first book in the Eternal guardian series, was total different from her previous series. This book was VERY similar to Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series. The series is about seven immortal warriors who descended from ancient Greek heroes. Theron, a descendant from Hercules, leader of the Argonauts, is a strong character. The author immediately enforces his sense of duty and honor. He will do anything to ensure that his people's way of life will continue. Casey, a human, is a typical romance heroine. Her life is on the verge of disaster and Theron just might be the death of her. There are a lot of potential future books based on characters that are briefly introduced. I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of the Lords of the Underworld. There is currently only one book out in the series: But the second installment, Entwined, is scheduled to be released on July 27, 2010. According to her website she has already sold 3 more installments: Tempted, Book 3 - February 2011 TBD, Book 4 - August 2011 TBD, Book 5 - February 2012

Ancient Greek Gods, hugely hunky men and sassy courageous women. Oh, yeah!!

Marked (Eternal Guardians) by Elisabeth Naughton Paranormal Romance-- Apr. 27, 2010 4 ½ stars Marked is a new paranormal world based on: ancient Greek Gods, hugely hunky men and sassy courageous women. As the leader of the Argonauts Theron's prime directive is to protect his immortal world. As a descendant of Hercules, he has been raised to believe his people are above any others and that their survival is more important that the lives of any inferior races such as humans. But his world is slowly fading and his King dying. Theron knows his duty; he must marry the Princess Isadora, the King's only heir. However, the Princess has never been strong and their race hopes that their upcoming marriage will create a new show of strength. However, the Princess has disappeared and he finds himself hunting her down. But during his search he bumps into the most alluring female he has ever known and she saves him, bringing him back to health. When he starts fantasizing about her in his dreams he is appalled because she is human. Soon Theron must make an agonizing choice. His happiness or the life and longevity of his entire race. When he discovers that Casey's death is the key to their future, a man who has only known duty it a decision that will tear him apart. Casey has never `fit' in. Never found a place she thought she could settle in. She knows her life is half lived. When she saves a mysterious man from dying on the road, she gets far more than she bargained for. Casey doesn't know what is wrong with the strange hunk she rescued but he sure is sexy and arrogant. His moods and actions are strange. Why does he refuse a doctor and how can he heal so fast? But most disturbing, she can't stop thinking of him. When she is with him things feel `right.' Unfortunately she doesn't know anything about his past and he is very reluctant to reveal anything about himself to her. But a slow and mysterious illness is making her physical weak and Casey soon finds herself caught between 2 worlds. What will she sacrifice to save people she doesn't even know? This book was an easy and fast read. All the characters were strong and likeable. I particularly enjoyed reading the heroine who was very genuine. Casey was a woman who tries to do the right thing even if life has dealt her a rough hand. Her courage and fortitude were admirable and more than a match for Theron. I also loved reading about Nick, the handsome self-appointed guard who watches out for Casey. I hope the author will write Nick's own story in a future book! But what I enjoyed most was the fascinating and complex world the author created. The author's clear writing was easy to follow. I became instantly transfixed by Theron's people and the tantalizing glimpses of their centuries of intrigue and conflict. I am eager to learn who the real enemies are as they jostle for power while the King slowly dies. The story also had a couple of surprising plot twists that kept

Best I have read since Twilight and Sookie

Since Twilight, I have been looking to find similar paranormal romances that I can't put down- but less teen and more adult. I adore the Sookie Stackhouse novels and I became hooked on the Black Dagger Brotherhood as well. I have discarded several other series after the first or second book and I haven't really loved anything until this book! Marked is a great read. It is fast paced, interesting, sexy, actually builds the relationship between the characters and there are very few, if any, corny, ridiculous lines (like you might find in the Kenyon Dark Hunter books which I hated for their lack of character, cheesey lines and lack of a real plot). If you love BDB and Sookie, you will love Marked. I want more of this story!!
