Excellent Biography of a Prominent Woman

This book is a well-written biography of an outstanding woman. The author, Beatrice Siegel, documents the life of Marian Wright Edelman, her education and continuing work devoted to young people. As she pursued her education through college and Yale law School, Edelman participated in civil rights movements with Martin Luther King and became a strong advocate for poor and needy children. During her career Edelman was awarded many distinguided honors, and is presently the Director of the Children's Defense Fund. Ms. Siegel has recorded in a clear and fluent manner the life of an important woman, and the volume is enhanced by its many illustrations. Very interesting and absorbing reading.
