The Quilt Mystery

In this book Mandie finds a strange quilt in her attic . She takes it to Uncle Wirt so he can translate the Cherokee writing. He says it's a sad message. Natually, Mandie is curious. Because she didn't wait, she causes alot of trouble. I reccomend this book because Mandie finds out about her heritage. Whenever she makes a mistake she always apologizes to the people she has hurt. I really like the Mandie series. I have read all the books. I wish there would be books about Mandie going to college.
Very Good

In one of the previous books Mandie and her friends found a Cherokee quilt with strange symbols on it, which prove to be Cherokee writing. Uncle Ned sends it to Mandie's Uncle Writ to translate it, and Mandie can't wait to see what it says. But when Uncle Ned comes back with the message, he says it is a 'sad, bad message' and will not tell her. Mandie absolutely has to find it, so she finds a way to get down to her Uncle Writ's house to find out what it said by herself. But the message turns out to be more than Mandie can handle. Find out what that message was in 'Mandie and the Quilt Mystery.'I really enjoyed this book, but the one thing that annoyed me was Mandie's impatience. She could absolutely not wait a little while to find out what was written on the quilt. She could not except Uncle Ned's good advice and just leave the quilt alone. I understand her curiosity, but if I were her, I would have been patient and wait until Uncle Ned thought it fit to tell her.But other than that it is really good and I recommend the entire series.
The mysterious message from the past...

Mandie and her friends, Joe and Celia, have just begun their summer vacation and can't wait to begin their trip by going to visit Jonathan Guyer in New York. Things change though when Mandie's Cherokee friend Uncle Ned shows up with the quilt Mandie found in the attic, with the mysterious message. He had promised Mandie he would ask Uncle Wirt what it meant but now Uncle Ned refuses to tell Mandie what it means, saying that it is a bad,sad message. Of course it stirs up the couriosity juices in Mandie, and she changes her plans and decides to go see her Cherokee people first, to find out what the message on the quilt means, instead of visiting Jonathan first. Just when Mandie and her friends get settled down the quilt mysteriously disappears! Who could have taken yet? Can it be connected to the disappearence, once again, of Mandie's cousin T'sani, who is a noctorious troublemaker? Will they ever find out what the message means? Read to find out! This, as usual, was another wonderful Mandie book. I have been reading them since I was 9 and it has been 4 years since I have started and they are still as good as the first ones. I can't wait for the next installment called Mandie and the New York Secret. It looks like it will reveal why Mrs. Taft and Jonathan's father don't have a very good relationship...something from the past caused the rift and what is it? I can't wait to find out!

This was another great Mandie book as she and her friends try to solve the mystery of the mysterious message on the Cherokee quilt. Like every other Mandie this book was fabulous! I can't wait for Mandie #36: Mandie and the New York Secret!
