Newbie to the Tech Field

I am new to the computer arena and I find the book layed out the material very well. It made for an interesting and easy read. The first chapter sums up the majority of the book and each chapter thereafter elaborates on each topic presented in the first chapter.

Thorough Book - But worth the money?

Are any textbooks really worth what they charge? Not really - However, this is a good book and covers many (almost) up to date concepts. In technology, I am guessing for a hard cover book, the updated materials are as close as you can get.
