This Is A Winner!!!!!!

I have read many books by this author but this time she knocks the ball out of the park and hits a homerun. The story is very realistic and current. The book travels in a smooth pace allowing you to get acquainted with the characters and then delve into the story. She treats each character with respect and allow you to get acquainted with them as she unravels their truths, flaws and praises. I find it rather hard to give a 5 star rating but about the middle of this book, the story pick up with full steam and excitement with suspense that was tearing at you to unravel. I am amazed how the author took her time with the story without leaving you hanging. She did her homework on legal matters and presented this dynamic in a concise and pleasant way to understand without making you believe you needed a legal mind to comprehend. That is genius on her part to complete a thorough and fair narrative. My heart went out to Jamal. He was truly misunderstood, and I was glad that he got the justice he deserved. I was somewhat conflicted with Gloria because she allowed a 2-bit minister to cloud her judgement when he was nothing but the devil in sheep clothing. Why she stayed married to such a jerk and took such abuse is a mystery to us all but I suppose love makes you do foolish things.? I am glad that the ending made her enjoy her "come to Jesus's moment". Kayla, the prosecutor was an evil witch who took her anger out on innocent young black men. While she disrespects these men and could not clean up her own household shows her weakness. Her husband, Phillip was the kindest and most understanding man and I was glad that he stepped up to the plate in the end. Rev Elton Jones was an imposter trying to fake being a minister and with all his wrongdoings, he reeks what he sowed in the end. God don't like ugly showed him that as he got what he deserved. If you want a good human touching story, you must read this one and I am sure it will not disappoint. ReShonda , you deserve the gold star for this work. Keep up the good work and you will always have readers like me.
