In an age when more and more people are concluding that life is pointless, Pastor Kent Crockett proclaims that -- in fact -- how we live our lives today is critically important for all time. Making... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I strongly recommend this book. He describes how one can put a smile on God's face by everyday actions. He addresses the assumption that people have that they must done something "big" to be significant by countering it with his premise that the small actions in life are actually the important things. The Scripture reference for his point is Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve." He writes that life on earth determines responsibilities in heaven and "the most important thing you can do is whatever God wants you to do at that moment" (p. 165).This book motivates a person to be diligent in every task, realizing that nothing is insignificant.
I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful book!

What a blessing from the Lord this book is! :) This book is so needed in our day. It's very encouraging and uplifting, and scripturally helps you to realize just how important our purpose and short time on earth are. God made each of us unique & special for a reason...and this life is our "opportunity for Christ", with many heavenly rewards. This book beautifully shows that whatever your position in life is...whether a homemaker or an engineer, etc..God will use you right where you are & with how He made you the way He did. :) Enjoy! I know you will! :)
The Sequel to Prayer of Jabez

Kent Crockett takes a fresh approach to understanding how our earthly life has a direct bearing on our eternal life. A popular and generally accepted theological doctrine of "once saved, always saved," can lead to false assumptions. The author vividly points out that YES, with salvation, you have a guaranteed ticket to you final destination, but the question remains, what are you going to do when you arrive? Our earthly choices can make a significant difference.Kent takes passages from the Bible and explains in easy to understand illustrations how they use earthly examples to reflect heavenly models. He makes liberal use of the parables regarding how servants handled accountability and the master's response. This book in not without humor. It is 166 pages of food for thought. There is plenty of meat to chew on, amusing side dishes, and dessert at the end. It is easy to digest, and I think most readers will want to go back for seconds. The PRAYER OF JABEZ teaches us to ask for "opportunities" to serve the Lord. This book could well be the sequel to JABEZ. You can't read it and not be more conscious of the impact these opportunities can have on your eternal life. After reading the book, you can't help but measure your daily decisions in terms of eternal results.
A great and REAL book

This book made me feel like I was important to God! Even me-a schoolteacher. I never dreamed that being a good teacher/friend/wife/daughter really mattered to God. Sure, I knew it, but I sure didn't feel it. It's nice to know that I can make God smile just by doing what I'm doing-if I'm doing my best for Him!
This book may be the best investment I have ever made...

I thought Kent Crockett's first book was good, but "Making Today Count for Eternity" is really, really good. It is the best thing I have read in a really long time. I love the charts, especially "Verses We don't Like to Claim". I have heard the author speak, and this book captured his humor well. I was cracking up throughout the whole book. Every chapter was incredibly applicable to the struggles and questions I face every day. This book was a better investment than the best mutual fund!
