Making the Best of It

Jeremiah 18:1-10 (The Potter and the Clay)

God told Jeremiah to go down to the potter's house to receive a message from Him. Jeremiah went down and saw him working with clay at the wheel. He made a pot from clay, but there was something wrong with it. So the potter used that clay to make another pot and shaped it the way he wanted it to be.

God wants us to know that we are like the clay in the potter's hands, and God is the potter. When you change your hearts and do good, God will do a good work in you. If you continue in your ways, God will think about the good He has planned for you. It may take longer to get it when you strike out on your own to live according to your own plans. But God already has a plan to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you health and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Don't give up when times get tough; hold on to God's unchanging hand. He'll give you peace in the midst of your storm.
