Making the old news a news one

This is a book on social communication, that had its beginning from an personal experience of his author, Gaye Tuchman. It is a workmanship onslaught of a will to investigate as the social reality where the people live, and if they dislocate, can molded for the manufacture of the news since a dislocated place: the newsmakers. These people are the ones that decide which are the news. This election carried through on the reality according to determines, points of view seen of news makers, what it is important what is not. What it is notice and what is not. What it is the reality and what is not. Thus being, dangerously, the Real becomes a substance determined for so few for as much. The book is divided in a pleasant and intelligent form in 10 chapters and deepening a topic that, for the author constructs its version of the building of reality for newsmakers. As a circle, the first chapter whose heading is news the frame, it launches the bases of the inquiry and the sharply analysis in a series of examples. In the chapter ten, news knowledge, analyzes what it was a frame transformed into a knowledge capable to lead the life of the individual and its perception of and proper itself and it time where lives. Personally I consider it I chapter nine an essay not plus a terror of childhood in itself, but where the professor Gaye Tuchman works with the visual instruments - and our age is so visual - to construct this visual world that makes sense. Intelligent and critic, produced in News as Knowledge as a text of great spread and well-written and impressive work.

news are not the reality but only a window of the world

we can not know the reality if we don't see tv or read newspapers and so on. i think it is a very important question and tuchman defends that news are just stories about reality. in this sense journalism as a pratical activity transforms happenings in news in a very peculiar way wish may have danger effects in our understanding of the world.
