Great how-to resource for dollmaking

This is a tremendous reference for making dolls of fabric and stuffing. It has simple ideas and patterns as well as instructions for more complex dolls with moveable joints and arms and legs. Covers how to make incredible sock dolls, finger puppets, glove dolls, and miniature dolls suitable for doll houses in addition to traditional rag and soft dolls. Very good step-by-step. The kind of things that your grandmother could have taught you to do if she was a clever seamstress. Many dolls shown are simple to make but cute as a bug and would delight a child. Many illustrations and photos of dolls that can be made for ideas. My granddaughter and I have made a number of these dolls that have become her favorites. We have even had to make "twins" of hers for her friends. You can sew dolls with this book even if you were not the best in home economics.
