World of Robert McCloskey

I bought this book to read and give to a third grade class to encourage reading. I enjoyed reading the story of Lentil to them, and the children really loved it. Furthermore, the book was quite a bargain since it contains three wonderful stories.

A childhood keepsake

Robert McCloskey is one of my favorite children's authors. I loved his books as a child. This book is a keepsake that your children will treasure and be able to share with their own children. His stories paint a wonderful picture of a simpler time in life. They contain warm characters who suggest that life can be wonderful. They are beautifully written and would make wonderful stories for parents to read to their children. I have warm memories of when my mother did that for me when I was a child. Davis Aujourd'hui, author of the humorous "The Misadventures of Sister Mary Olga Fortitude"

Excellent Book to Keep for Generations

This is a wonderful book to read and hand down for generations. Quality paper, beautiful illustrations, and excellent stories. Worth the money. My 5 year-old enjoyed the stories and will for years more.

beautiful!

What a beautiful LARGE hardcover book! I didn't expect it to be as big as it was! The three stories are great inside. My kids and I love it!

Good old-fashion book

This is a nice collection of stories. My daughter's favorite was Make Way For Ducklings. What made this story even more memorable for her was that we read it right before a trip to Boston. You can actually ride the swan boats and visit statues of the ducks. The other two stories are, imo, not as good as Ducklings. The setting is dated enough that I had to explain it to my daughter, who is 4. I like finding content appropriate books that talk about places we are going or have been. I used the Mornings in Maine book before visiting Kennebunkport with my daughter. Nice stories with an old fashion feel.
