"Maisy is confident and acquainted with the routines of preschool. She clearly has no separation issues. . . . As always, Cousins's bright color illustrations are simple and appealing." - School Library Journal Preschool for Maisy means a day filled with friends and things to do, from the time she hangs her coat on a special peg to the time she says good-bye. There's painting and snack time, stories and nap time (and a bathroom break in between). Soon everyone's ready to haul out the instruments and make some noise, then head outside for a turn at the sandbox or slide. In a bright, full-size storybook full of familiar scenes, this child-friendly look at a day in the life of a preschooler is one that newcomers and seasoned pros alike will be happy to share.
My 2-year old LOVES Maisy and since she received this book for Christmas, it is one of the most requested for reading time. We recently had a trial trip to pre-school for next year and this really helps to remind her of that experience so, hopefully, it won't be as scary or unnerving as it could be starting a new experience. I recommend for kids looking forward to pre-school for the first time.
Loved it!

My daughter is 2 and 1/2 and loves this book. We have a few other Maisy books which she really likes so I thought this book would be a good choice to help her get ready for preschool this fall. She really enjoys the familiar characters in new settings and activities. This book lends itself to reading through quickly or going slowly and looking at all of the details in the pictures.

The newest addition to the outstanding 'Maisy' series of picture books for young children by Lucy Cousins, "Maisy Goes To Preschool" continues the adventures of everyone's favorite mouse as she and her friends go through a typical day at their preschool. With its bright color and simple artwork, "Maisy Goes To Preschool" allows children ages 2 through 5 to learn about many of preschool activities such as painting, music, story time, napping, bathroom behavior, playing in the sandbox, and more! Thoroughly 'kid friendly' and ideal for parents to introduce children to the concept of attending a preschool or kindergarten program or class, "Maisy Goes To Preschool" should be a part of every daycare center, elementary school, and community library picture book collection.
Great for toddler/preschool age!

The "peek-a-boo" flaps, pull tabs, action and simple language in this book made it a big hit with our two children -- (one toddler and one preschool age)! The darling mouse, Maisy, does lots of activities at school, such as paints pictures, writes a story, dances like a ballerina, and even adds and subtracts! Like other lift the flap/pull the tab books, your child can interact with this book. My preschool age daughter has even learned to add and subtract from this book and very much enjoys "reading" the book to me! The Maisy books are a huge success in our home...we're ordering four more to add to our growing collection!
