Have you ever dreamed of having the house to yourself with your parents half way around the world on vacation? With only a list of rules, Colleen Templeton, just graduating from high school, plans to spend the summer living with her three best friends while her parents are visiting foreign countries. Busy serving tables at Bobbs, Colleen spends most of her free time with her loving boyfriend, Ben, hanging out, or painting. Life sounds perfect, right? That's when Evan, Colleen's ex boyfriend, shows up and claims he will be staying for the whole summer. To make matters worse, Evan starts working at Bobbs and Colleen can not stop looking at him. After all the weeks Colleen spent getting over Evan, she still seems to want him back. Right away, Ben notices a difference in their relationship. Can Colleen maintain her relationship with Ben, or will she run off with Evan? This book will keep any teenage girl up all night, with all the drama, bickering, and romance the fun never stops. The author explains how Colleen or any typical girl deals with the unexpected choices each having critical consequences. I love how I can relate to this book; it helps you realize that life is not perfect.
The Return of her Past

The return of her past Maine Squeeze By: Catherine Clark * * * * * Colleen's parents go to Germany, and she has a couple of her friends live with her for the entire summer. She loves her boyfriend, Ben to death, but the whole summer turns around when her ex-boyfriend returns to the island! Will he cause trouble between them?...or will Colleen?! I really liked this book a lot. It never got boring; it had a lot of drama and a lot of summer fun!! I enjoyed the author's style of writing and how you always knew what the character was thinking. There was nothing I disliked about this book. It was a great book! I would recommend this book to any girl who likes a lot of boy drama and has trouble staying with a book because it is a book that you will fly through.
Excellent Summer "Beach" Read!

I loved this book. I bought it about 3 months ago and have been "putting it off" on reading it due to lack of time. But when I started my new job this week, I needed something to do while the kid was sleeping. So I decided to start this book. It was wonderful I read it in 3 days!! This is by far a very good read. It follows Colleen, who gets to have share her house with her 3 best friends for the summer while her parents are in Europe on a lonnnnnng vacation. When she starts her summer job, Colleen finds that her ex...has also decided to work the same place! And while she tries to find time to be with Ben, her boyfriend, she can't seem to get her ex out of her mind. It's a typical teen book. Complete with romance, friend problems, trust issues, responsibilities of a teen, and break-ups... I would reccomend this book to any girl who is in high school (or just out of high school) and is looking for a good book to read pool-side. :)

I loved this book! Colleen was such a likeable character. After reading "Maine Squeeze" I wanted to pack up and move to an island in Maine. The setting was perfect in this book. The conflict of having to choose between 2 different guys kept me interested because the author didn't make it sleazy like the Gossip Girl books. There are also some hilarious parts in this book that you'll probably find yourself laughing uncontrollably about. Don't waste any more time! Buy this book NOW!
Fantastic New Teen Fiction

Eighteen-year-old Colleen Templeton is gearing up for the best summer of her life. She has just graduated from high school, her parents are headed to Germany for the summer, leaving her home alone, three of her best friends (Haley, Erica, and Samantha) are moving in with her for the summer, she's got a great boyfriend, Ben, who loves her more than anything, she's working at Bobb's (a cute crabhouse, where B-list celebrities sometimes eat), and she's living on Maine the most quaint area in the world. But when Evan, Colleen's boyfriend from last summer shows up, everything changes. Suddenly Collen can't figure out why she's constantly thinking about Evan, when she should be thinking about her current-boyfriend Ben, and as time slowly goes by, she realizes that, as hard as it is to believe, she may actually have feelings for Evan, even though he broke her heart the previous summer.Catherine Clark has created a wise, intelligent, and funny voice in Colleen. She is an interesting character who is artistic, and quiet, but who faces the same challenges that teenage girls face everyday in their lives. Her friends (Erica, Samantha, and Haley) all bring unique personalities to MAINE SQUEEZE, causing female readers to find themselves identifying to each and every girl, and comparing the characters to her own friends. Reading MAINE SQUEEZE is like reading a letter from your best friend. Filled with ups and downs in the romance, work, and school departments, this book will be cherished by all female teenagers. A great beach read.Erika Sorocco
