Dispel some myths

At least the Frosts don't need to steal other authors' ideas in order to have a book, or two or three, published. This is one of those books that a reader truly must read for the self, even if one only gets the book from interlibrary loan, before trashing the authors or their ideas. There is a lot of anger out there, directed at the Frosts, based on gossip and lies. Getting to know them or their writings for yourself will help you understand just how significant their contributions are to Wicca and the Wiccan movement.

I did not get why so many people disliked the book, until...

I read the online reviews of this book about half way through it, and I honestly had no idea why so many people disliked the book. I was really enjoying it, and I was fully prepared to come online and give it 5 stars. Now that I have finished the book though, I have had to reconsider my original plan.Yes, the book is very good. I really enjoyed the first 200 pages or so. With short chapters on a vairety of topics such as spells, energy work, psychic healing, manifesting what you want in life, etc. the book reminded me of a 'new age' version of some of the popular self-help titles that are currently popular (power of your subconscious mind - Murphy; and Wayne Dyer titles come to mind). However, I was completely unprepared for the last chapter, where wife-swapping as an act of spiritual salvation is espoused. This ideology was too much of a stretch for me, and it definately tainted my impression of the book. In all, I would recommend this book, and I did enjoy reading most of it, but I would want to caution conservative readers that they may want to avoid reading the last part of the book.

On the right path.

This book, is about Witchcraft. Others here have talked bad about it, and I would have to say that they know little about spirituality if they talk of this book as a 'way to get over on others and nothing to do with wicca'.This book is about the magickal part of witchcraft, not necessarily the 'religious' part. It's a good primer for someone who is interested more in the magickal 'work' of witchcraft which involves the disciplining of the mind to set the spells to work for you. Worshipping some unseen being, or beings and doing nothing will get your spells no where fast. It takes the focus of the individual mind to get things 'brewing' so to speak. This book deals with that, getting your mind onto the craft part of witchcraft. Although I would rate it a good book, I would also say that it purposely leaves alot incomplete for a beginner, which leads to enrolling in the Frost's course on wicca. (It was the Frosts who used the term 'wicca' first, just to let you others out there know). If you cannot afford the Frost's course, which I am sure it's a good one, but have never studied it myself, then I would suggest some of the Ravenwolf books to get you started. Remember wicca is a male/female religion, and beware of any form which stresses more female over male, or vice-versa as then the balance would be gone.

White Witchcraft Wonderful

The Frosts' present literally hundreds of ideas and examples on ways to find happiness and live a more complete life. The examples are practical and down to earth. The emphasis is on recognizing what you have got and what you can do with it if you put your mind to it!One day pondering the idea that psychic powers are available to some degree in all of use, an idea suggested by the Frosts, I decided to see for myself. I had been studying Huna, the so called ancient Hawaiian religion. The Hawaiian Kahunas were purported to be able to control the weather. I decided to see if I could burn a hole through a cloud while lying on Little Beach, Maui. To my own astonishment I was able to do so repeatedly! Today a cloud, tomorrow a burning bush! Dr. Leisure may become a genuine Kahuna yet!Anyway there are countless ideas worth considering in The Magic Power of White Witchcraft. I can understand why the other reviewers would not give their names. I would not want my name associated with a review so far off the mark and potentially libelous. I've added this and other Frosts' books to the pagan component of DrLeisure.com for obvious reasons.
