Maggies Dare: the great awakening 1744

I thought this was a very good sisters in time book. I had never really known much about the great awakening, and this really told me about it, along with many other things, such as slavery. This book is filled with excitement, and adventure. I thought this was the best sisters in time i have read [ though i've only read 6] and i recomend it.

A really good book... though something that I did not enjoy...

This book was wonderful! I loved the storyline, and looking into the life of a girl living in the midst of the great awakening. Though... when you read the back, it talks a lot about Maggie becoming friends with her friend, Adelade's slave girl, Melee. Upon reading the book, it took me up until I think Chapter nine, and she then gets very sick and dies in the last chapter, chapter 15. Though, throughout those chapters, very little was mentioned about Melee. I don't know... am I the only one that is a tad bothered by that? Overall, though, I very much enjoyed it! ;)

A Wonderful Book for Christian Girls!

Hi,I'm an 11 year old Christian girl, and this is one of the best books I've ever read in my life!!! The problem that Maggie had can easily happen with friends.(I had it happen to me once) Maggie gradually grew in her walk with the Lord and noticed things that she had not noticed before. I hope you buy this book because I know you will absolutely love this book!

A wonderful Christian-based book

When twelve-year-old Maggie Baldwin goes to her friend, Adelaide's, house, for her weekly dance lessons that occur on Thursdays, she is in for a big surprise! While waiting for her dad after dance lessons Adelaide breaks the big news that Maggie is invited to travel with her to Salem in a fancy stagecoach. Adelaide is getting a slave girl for a Christmas present, but Maggie disagrees with the whole idea of owning slaves. After seeing that Adelaide treats the girl poorly, Maggie decides to help her and the less fortunate against Adelaide's wishes. Will the girls be able to stay friends after having conflicts about almost everything or will they give up trying and go their separate ways? Maggie's Dare is one of the many books in the Sisters In Time Series, which are all about girls living in different time periods. I loved Maggie's Dare so much that I couldn't put it down; it was a real page-turner. This is a wonderful Christian-based book that can keep you up all night long trying to find out what will happen next. I really liked the character named Jacob because he brought life to the story and it made the story all the better. Maggie's Dare is recommended for kids ages 8-12.
