Madam Wu's Art of Chinese Cooking

For an old book it was in very good condition, better than expected. The book is delightful and the recipes simple and interesting. The book arrived timely. It was sealed in plastic; however, the corners should have had a little extra protection. A good choice for any cook to keep as part of their library. It is a reminder of going to the Chinese restaurants for Sunday dinner when you were a kid in Brooklyn. Bought it for a cookbook collector, but made copies of the egg drop soup recipe and other easy dishes.

Chinese Cuisine! 1/2 Hour or less, complete guide, 10 plus

Really, this book has been my personal guide for over 20 years, Madame Wu has poured out her heart and secrets of fine Chinese Cuisine, to help anybody prepare and present Hunan, Szechwan, Mandarin, or Peking style dishes, as they should be without being "americanized bland flavors". Madame Wu takes you through the history of the various dishesand guides you to the proper supplies needed for its preparation. Her family comments only help to heighten the readers success in the preparation of this fine food. The publisher should have never stoped with the 1984 printing, mine is from the second print of Oct-1975, my new puppy took a liking to it as it had aquired aromas to tempt even "God", so I need a replacement. Charles Beard, Craig Claiborne, Julia Child, Pierre Franey, & Raymond Oliver all stars of the cuisine scene, Madame Wu shines alone and has many imitators. It has been through her effort that I have been able to introduce this fine food to my children, grand children, and all that come to marvel in my kitchen.
