A great foundation fro the reformed Calvinist

This book covers 3 Main topics. 1) The belief that true saving faith results in a Spirit produced life of good works. Macarthur reassures those worried that they might not be saved by using the Bible which says that God chastises those whom he loves when they sin. If there is no chastisement, one should try to get right with God.2) The belief that the conscience is our God given tool to detect sin in our lives and to take full accountability for such wickedness. Macarthur shows how to deal with sin in one's life.3) God's love is defended against those who would have problems with all-powerful, all-wise, benevolent God and the problem of evil. Macarthur belives that God dispenses two types of love. One type of love is given to the unsaved called common grace and the other is for the believers which is saving grace. Macarthur eloquently defends and explains all his beliefs logically, systematically, and with conviction. I highly recommend this book for Calvinists or those interested in Calvinism and Puritanism.
