Formerly a rural community on the outskirts of Boston, Lynnfield is now a modern suburb connected to the hub by the bustling Routes 1 and 128. Where there were once shoe factories and ice-harvesting facilities, there are now distribution facilities and automobile dealerships. Like so many other towns across New England, Lynnfield has entered the modern age and left little trace of its smalltown past.
