At the beginning of this book Jessica Wakefield discovers an oil spill on the beach. While walking through the mess, she finds a trapped baby seal. Rescuers then take the seal and promise to help care for it, but they're very optomistic because the seal is really sick. Meanwhile, Jessica's sister, Elizabeth makes friends with a girl named Lucy at the horse stable. Lucy claims to be a really good horse rider, but she never gets on a horse. Another friend of Elizabeth's, Ted is about to lose his horse because he doesn't have enough money to take care of it anymore. One day he decides to enter the local horse race in hopes of winning the $1,000 first place prize. A few days before the big race Ted is thrown from his horse, and breaks his leg. It looks if Ted has to forfit the race. Then Elizabeth comes up with a great idea, why doesn't Lucy enter the race? She claims to be a great jockey. Lucy refuses. Will Lucy enter the race? And just what is the big secret that she is hiding? ~~Kat

Good book

I love most Sweet Valley books. I like Sweet Valley Twins the most, though. Second is Sweet Valley Kids, then Sweet Valley Jr. High (I don't read any other series rather than these mentioned above.) This book has funny and serious places in it. These books are good and very exciting. They enthrall me to the very last word! Here's the 4-1-1Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield are twins. They are best friends and help each other with their problems. (Only Jessica asks Elizabeth to do so many "favors" for her and she gets to do whatever she wants.) Jessica is a member of the Unicorns, a club of girls that think that they are the prettiest and most popular girls in school. Elizabeth calls them the "snob squad." Jessica's best friends are Lila and Ellen. Lila is rich and spoiled. Jessica and Lila DO have fights, but they always remain friends (as do Elizabeth and Amy.) Elizabeth is much more responsible then Jessica, and the four minutes that seperate them sometimes seem like four years. Elizabeth spends most of her time writing for the Sweet Valley Sixers, and unlike Jessica, she is nice to everyone. At Carson Stables, Elizabeth meets a new girl, Lucy. Lucy is shy and very secretive. When Ted has a bad fall right before the competition, it's up to Lucy to win the money for him, since Ted needs the money. Elizabeth doesn't know that Lucy hasn't ridden on a horse in two years, and is afraid to get on a horse again (especially in competition.) Will Lucy be brave enough to face her fears? Read the book to find out!(...) :)
