In Loving Constance, Constance is a new attorney for a defense firm. Her friend's husband (who happens to be her high school sweetheart) has gone missing. Constance plays both a supportive role for her friend and also a detective role while struggling to come to grips with her lingering infatuation for the missing man. She keeps in constant contact with the police detective heading the investigation, and both seem to help each other get over their respective pasts. This novel is a decent read. When compared to other novels in the Mystery/Romance genre it is a little lacking, but when compared to other novels in the Christian Romance genre it is at or slightly better than average. This is not a thrilling page turner, and some of the action seems painfully out of place and thrown in there. However, I liked that the characters weren't perfect and that Constance lost her idealized image of the man she thought she still loved. The overall story was good, but the last chapter seriously aggravated me. It seemed really over the top; I disagreed with some of the points made during the reconciliation of the characters. It was still a decent read though, and I wouldn't be embarrassed to pass it on to a friend.
