A Nice Read

From back of book: Shortly before Diana Huntley's betrothal to Justin Christopher is to be announced, Justin decides he wants to marry Lady Cordelia Deverall. He arranges for his friend Francis Oglesby to kidnap Diana, making it appear that she has gone off with him willingly. Although her reputation is ruined and her engagement to Justin broken, Diana's encounter with a handsome stranger who is determined to clear her name turns the nightmare of broken promises into a dream of hope. This was a gentle, loving read. Ms. Benson's writing was smooth and flowing, I particularly enjoyed the description of life when Diana was recovering at Kit's house; unfortunately, I found the ending was a bit unsatisfactorily wrapped-up, such as the culprit was let-off so easily, and when Kit, often portrayed as a grumbling man, professed his love for Diana when they have met for only few days was hard to convince. Otherwise, this was a sweet and a gentle read.
