Loves Fortress

Took a little bit to get into the story. But once I did I didn't put down till finished.

A quite interesting split time read

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK Love’s Fortress by Jennifer Uhlarik is another book in the Doors of the Past series from Barbour Books. I enjoyed this story very much, even though it took me a while to get into the story. I felt bad for Dani. She knows nothing about her father’s life or any possessions he might have. These two characters, along with the other characters learn well as the story unfolds. Uhlarik does well in her research for the book. I like that the story switches between modern and historical times. This takes so great writing skills and not everyone can pull it off but Jennifer Uhlarik does a nice job. Readers who enjoy both historical and present times reads will enjoy this book. Also someone who enjoys reading about the history of Indian’s perhaps would enjoy this one. I’m giving it four out of Five Stars. A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. An absolutely, completely enjoyable time-slip novel

5 stars, An absolutely, completely enjoyable time-slip novel LOVE'S FORTRESS (DOORS TO THE PAST, #7) by Jennifer Uhlarik What if for your whole lifetime, one-half of your life has been based upon a lie? Dani Sango's estranged father has passed away and out of the blue, he has left his home in St. Augustine, Florida, and all of his worldly possessions to her. Her father was an artist who spent time in prison for forgery. Dani begins to unravel the man who was always a mystery to her. Among his personal effects, she finds a remarkable diary with amazing artwork from the 1870s. She contacts a local museum to see if they can help her determine what is contained therein. Brad Osgood is the curator at the art museum that Dani contacts. After quite a bumpy start, the two of them begin to decipher the diary and we step into the doors to the past. In the 1870s some Native American Indians from several tribes were sent to Ft. Marion, Florida, and also St. Augustine, Florida. I enjoyed the blending of contemporary and historical fiction and historical non-fiction in the novel. We have always planned to visit St. Augustine, Florida, and I have some great ideas of things to look at, while we visit. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a well-told story. Each of the Doors to the Past novels is a stand-alone, which is quite nice. Much appreciation to #barbourpublishing for the complimentary copy of #lovesfortress in the #doorstothepastseries I was under no obligation to post a review. #inspirational #inspyfiction #coverlove #timeslip #jenniferuhlarik #contemporary #historicalfiction #historicalnonfiction #staugustineflorida #fortmarionflorida #NativeAmericans
