An imaginative guide to intimate weekends with your lover

The thesis of this little volume is that we all need a lovers' weekend, defined as a tie to celebrate the joy of falling in love and the delight of sexual expression. Since the modern world tends to make our everyday life not only stressed and mundane but also de-eroticized, carving out time specifically for lovemaking becomes one of those good things you hear so always here about. Taking time out for a lover's weekend is an important statement on the importance of a relationship. Author Anne Hooper grants that it is possible to have great sex at home on weekends, but the ideal is that a couple should be able to escape. She even proscribes that every couple should do this on an average of every six weeks. Okay, now that you have finished laughing at the idea of being able to afford that much special time with the person you love, you have to admit that you would love to be able to take that much time for the most important person in your life. So even if you do not ascribe to the quantity of escape Hooper proscribes you can at least appreciate the idea of quality time encompassed in the "Lovers' Weekend Guide." Hooper wants her readers to choose a theme. While not mentioning specific resorts she does suggest a variety of examples of suitable sexual terrain. With sex become not only a luxury but a recreation, Hooper comes up with ten very different themed weekends, including a stay-at-home scenario that gives you no excuse to find at least one weekend program that you can try out. The dozen weekends covered are: (1) Summer in the Country, where you can commune with nature; (2) Play Weekend, which involves staying in a friend's apartment; (3) Winter Wonderland, where you stay warm inside while it is cold outside; (4) Grand Passion is set in a grand hotel, while (5) Murder Mystery is at a hotel that is doing a murder mystery weekend; (6) Dancefloor Drama begins with dancing as foreplay while (7) Gourmet Hideaway adds food into the mix; (8) Spiritual Retreat is really a Tantric sex weekend while (9) Bondage Escapade is self-explanatory; (10) Sex in the City is about what I would call pseudo-exhibitionism (a library, but only if it is closed), (11) Motel Lust makes a case for roadside motels, and (12) Home Alone is the worst case scenario if for when you find things to entice you and your partner in this book but cannot get away (or cannot get away fast enough). Each weekend scenario is set in what are considered special surroundings, from a steamy hotel in a city like New Orleans to the pristine cold of a ski resort. Each chapter contains not only ideas for equipment you might need but different things that you can do. One of the things you want to do is go through the entire book to see what catches your eye and/or imagination, because you can certainly mix and match what you do with where you do it. In the back of the guidebook are several pages devoted to Enjoying Safer Sex. "Lovers' Weekend Guide" is profusely illustrated with color
