fun and cute

I found this book to be very cute. Its very simple but still fun. the whole spy part of the book made it more interesting. I love the characters and the story line. This is a fun quick read that should be part of your collection.

Great book

I read this book in one day. It was a cute book and an easy read. It's about a girl whose dad is a secret agent and he brings home a boy, Blaine in the witness protection program. The main character falls in love with the Blaine and they share a special connection. It is captured in this cute romantic comedy. I look forward to reading other books in the Simon Romantic comedy series.

Kaitlyn Nichols doesn't have your typical parents. Her father is a member of the FBI secret service and is often gone for long periods of time. Her mother is a sex (excuse me, "relationship") columnist, and her research frequently involves piles of thongs and condoms lying around the house. However, despite what one might think, her parents' work doesn't usually affect Kaitlyn too much. Until now. Enter Blaine Donovan, AKA "Gordon," AKA the son of a Texas billionaire, AKA major hottie. Blaine's father is in the middle of a big business deal, and his rivals have started threatening the family. So, Kaitlyn's dad has put Blaine in the Witness Protection Program as Gordon Dennis Nichols, Kaitlyn's third-cousin who has come to live with her family and go to school with her for a few months. Now Kaitlyn is responsible for keeping Blaine safe and watching out for anything suspicious. She brushes up on her spy tricks by watching Alias, The Bourne Identity, and James Bond, and she feels ready to handle anything that comes her way. But when she starts to fall for Blaine, she realizes that she's broken the number one rule of being a secret agent: she's gotten emotionally involved. I've really enjoyed all the books in the Simon Romantic Comedies series, and LOVE UNDERCOVER is a great addition. The spy stuff doesn't overwhelm the book, but it's just enough to be fun, and Kaitlyn deals with problems that every teenager faces: liking the popular boy who doesn't know you exist, dealing with mean popular girls, and occasionally keeping secrets, even from best friends. I definitely hope that Jo Edwards contributes more books to the Romantic Comedies series -- and soon! Reviewed by: Andie Z.

Cute teen romance.

I'm a huge fan of Jo (Johanna) Edwards adult chick lit and I decided to try this even though I'm no longer a teen. It's was a very quick read. It's a cute book but unlike some teen lit, this really is targeted to teens. It's a wholesome romantic comedy that I think any teen girl would love to read.

'Love Undercover' will warm your heart this winter, and leave you searching for your own undercover

Sixteen-year-old Kaitlyn Nichols has never had your normal, average existence. As if being so flat she's almost concave, with frizzy hair and skin so pale she's almost transparent weren't enough, Kaitlyn has to deal with two parents who have uber-bizarre, laugh-worthy jobs. Her mother, for one, is a relationship columnist, writing about topics as embarrassing as thongs; and her father is a secret agent for the FBI (though her friends are unaware of this little fact). The only good part about her parents job positions is that they rarely bring their work home. That is, until now. Meet Blaine Donovan, aka Gordon. Blaine is the super rich son of a Texas billionaire who has been placed in the Witness Protection Program, thanks to a few threats from his father's rivals. The reason why Gordon is staying with Kaitlyn's family, however, is because Kaitlyn is expected to keep an eye on Gordon, and report anything suspicious to her father. Kaitlyn doesn't see how difficult being a junior spy will truly be. After all, watch some ALIAS DVD's provided by her best friend, Morgan; pick up a few karate techniques from THE BOURNE IDENTITY, and voila! Ready for spy status. But things aren't that easy, for Gordon is absolutely gorgeous, with a fabulous personality to boot, and Kaitlyn quickly finds herself falling for the uber-hunk - a big no-no in the spy world. After all, getting involved with the person you're trying to protect definitely has to be against the rule books. But Kaitlyn can't help herself. Now, with Gordon pretending to be her long-lost cousin, Kaitlyn must attempt to keep her feelings for him a secret, along with the truth about Gordon's oh-so-privileged existence. Otherwise, the results could be...deadly. It seems impossible for the SIMON PULSE ROMANTIC COMEDY series to publish anything below fabulous. But Jo Edwards' effort LOVE UNDERCOVER most certainly garners the title super-fabulous. Edwards has created a character that won't easily be forgotten. Mixing together a pinch of Harriet M. Welsh (from Louise Fithugh's HARRIET THE SPY), a sprinkle of Nancy Drew, and two cups of Princess Mia (of Meg Cabot's THE PRINCESS DIARIES), she has created Kaitlyn Nichols, geek extraordinaire/junior spy. Kaitlyn is amazing from page one; while the chemistry she shares with Blaine/Gordon truly sends shivers up your spine whenever they share a scene/dialogue with one another. Edwards has done an amazing job of incorporating various bits of pop culture into this romantic effort, including relatable information regarding social networking sites, and popular actors, that will certainly please the MySpace generation, and leave them craving a Kaitlyn sequel. LOVE UNDERCOVER will warm your heart this winter, and leave you searching for your own undercover lover. Erika Sorocco
