Love to Hate Examines Language and Finds Some Scary Patterns

Love to Hate is, of course, an examination of violence in America, but is not limited to biographical narratives. The thing I found the most unique is the way it approaches language as reality in the minds of everyday people. I always knew sex and violence were a big part of popular culture, but Roy examines some real intricacies of a phenomenon of violence in our everyday speech. This book makes me listen more closely to what people are saying, and forces me to think more critically about what I am saying.
