As the Plot Thickens!

Love Notes was interesting from the onset. As the plot thickens I was immediately hooked. Her dramatic style and lyrical tone only serves to enhance her storyline. The strength, togetherness, and strong family bond that the William's family share is admirable and even the tragedies that happen seem easy to endure because of their oneness. The book has a strong suspense interwined in the story and as I turned page after page I was trying to figure out who did what and why. By the conclusion so many secrets are out and pandora boxes that were vowed to stay close are opened with a new outlook on life. Although Nina and Anthony were the major players all of the characters were so uniquely thrown together through situations and circumstances and it only serve to create a lot of surprising twists and turns. Love Notes was difficult to put down and is worth adding to your list of must reads. A Prolific Writers Network Reviewer

A Great Book To Read!

It is such a delight to have Leslie Esdaile back in the fold. I truly have missed reading some wonderful stories from you!!I enjoyed this book that had so many interesting thoughts about marriage and just life in general. Sometimes you can find yourself reading something so profound that it makes you just stop and think of your own present situations. Well, this book has quite a few of those stop, look and listen type parts. I extrememly like the ones where it involes the father talking with his son and the part where Tony's mother speaks her mind. This story, takes place in Philadelphia, heroine is named Nina Carpenter who is an artist who has been married less than 5 years to hero named, Tony Williams who ows a nightclub. The author carries us through Nina and Tony's struggles of their own marriage. Both Tony and Nina find themselves seeking the advice of their own parents, which you'll find interesting what they discover.Even in the midst of the troubled marriage, the author manages to find a way to add some suspense, murder, a few twists and turns, lots of suprises, that it has you turning the pages fast to see what happens next. Now, in some books, stories don't always start off fast, so be patient with this one. Because it starts to pick up and even though their are many characters in this story, I did not feel it took away from the overall story, actually it enhanced the story. I would class this book as a All-Nighter, the ones that keep the pages turning all night long. Some of my other favorites by this author: Slow Burn and Sundance.Leslie, well done!! Looking forward to your next book!!

Excellent Family Drama!

Anthony and Nina Carpenter's marriage was in trouble. Anthony was part owner in a Jazz club along with his brother Cecil. Cecil being the irresponsible brother made running the popular night spot hard on Anthony. Anthony was consumed with the club that he forgot about his wife.Nina being afraid to confront Anthony because she knew she was going to start an argument, started to shut down. They knew they loved each other, but would wonder why they couldn't get it right. They both seek out the advice of their parents. Anthony went to talk to his father and Nina her mother at first. Anthony's talk with his father was very enlightening. His father told him to take care of his wife and stop trying to take care of his grown siblings. After the talk with his father, Anthony decides it is high time to get his own house in order.Nina's talk with her mother was not what she expected. Nina never would have guessed her mother felt the way she did about marriage. She told Nina things that were unthinkable to Nina. Nina then talked to her father to see if he could shed any light on what she talked to her mother about. Again, Nina was surprised.A series of events occurred that would change both families lives forever. This book was so good. The drama and suspense was great. I think the characters main and secondary were excellent. A very well told story. This is my first full length Leslie Esdaile book. I did enjoy her in Midnight Clear. She is an extrodinary author. I also have her book Slow Burn.

Pleasant Read

Leslie Esdaile latest book was a very pleasant read. Although it had a slow start once the action began you could not put the book down because you might miss something.Once the honeymoon is over there is trouble in paradise. Nina is ready to start a family. And Tony feels that they are not ready financial wise and because of there busy schedules. They both turn to there parents for advise and learn some troubling secrets. But they also see the love their parents still have for each other. You will truly love Nina and Tony's story as well as the secondary characters. Many of the characters had some deep emotional issues to deal with.

Amazingly Honest

Leslie Esdaile crafts a book that takes a honest look at the "happily ever after". The story is about Nina and Tony who face reality after the honeymoon. The catalyst for the rose colored glasses coming off is the chaos that occurs at Tony's jazz club. There is also a great need to start a family. Their families are part of the problem. Yet the best part about the story is that family also provides the solution. Both sets of parents are the best characters in the book. With all the simple but valuable information Ms. Esdaile shares, this could have been a great relationship book. Yet it is crafted within a story that is an intriguing who done it. I'm still searching for the song on Santana's album that Nina used to communicate to Tony without words. That scene was fierce. I look forward to her next story.
