I was very excited to get my hands on a couple of the books from this series... and while I thoroughly enjoyed the content... I have to admit that the presentation for the Kindle was extremely distracting & disappointing for me. basically everything runs together. no page breaks between chapters... not even a double return. That being said, obviously simple chapter skipping or returns are not even present, nor is a Table of contents... and once the book had finished I found myself reading a promo, with little to no notice that I'd actually finished the book at hand!
Yes, this is what Pendleton is like (I grew up there)

My parents gave me a copy of this book. I'm not much on Christian fiction, then again, there isn't a whole lot of emphasis on religion in the book (but the characters definitely are true to the behaviors of the religious people I know). What I like is that it is true to the history and culture of Pendleton. I don't go back too often, but there is no doubt that Ms. Carlson paid attention when she visited.
