Great book

Lost in the war is a story about a girl named Lisa, who lost her father in the Vietnam War.Her mother,a Vietnam nurse, still has nightmares about what she saw. Then, her class does a project on Vietnam and it is hard for her.I think that this book tells about how terrible it was in Vietnam. It gives everyone an idea.

Lost In The War

In eighth grade in the early 1980's Lisa doesn't really remember the vietnam war. Though she goes through it everyday. Her father was killed in the war, and her mother, a nurse, still has nightmeres about being stationed there. When Lisas history teatcher announces a section on Vietnam it Lisa is reluctant to deal with it. But as she listens to speakers, who lived the vietnam war, and works on an assignment to design a Vietnam war memorial, Lisa develops a better understanding of not just the vietnam war but what her parents went through. Nancy Antle present a historically accurate account of war. She displays informationabout the memories of a injured veteran. Also about what people did who protested the war and avoided the draft, or tried to. There are two scenes that really stayed with me as I read: Lisa's mother speaks to her history class about nursing soldiers, and the Grey's (Lisa's family) attend the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, where Lisa leaves a little something for her father. This is a fantastic book, especially for readers who enjoy reading about war or who don't know much about the Vietnam war; I suggest it to be read.

This is an amazing story of a mother and daughter trying to cope with the loss of a loved one. My grandfather died when i was younger and I had a hard time coping with his loss but the feelings revealed in this story almost helped me get through his death. INTRIGINGLY AMAZING

I first read this book in grade 8. I cried in parts of it because it is a very touching story of a young girl who has to learn to help her mother cope with the loss of her husband. I just couldn't put it down. The details of the descriptions couldn't be more precise and perfect. I hope you'll read this book and have the same feelings that I do.
