There are two reviews on this page that are for other books. This book was part of a six book series on loss. The review written by Marty is about another book in this series called "Loss of a Job". The book mentioned in the review by South Carolina Reader is about yet another book in this series called "Loss of a Dream" by the same author (Robin Prince Monroe). This book, "Loss of a Loved One" is for people who are grieving. It takes readers through the author's struggle after she lost her 6 year old daughter, Anna, to leukemia. Though it is about the loss of a child it has provided comfort for folks around the country in all kinds of grief situations. Two hundred of these books were sent to the victim's families after the Oklahoma City bombing. It is short, honest and full of hope.

An excellent book that helps you to deal with your emotions after someone has died close to you. The words written was what I was feeling after my mother's death.
A Hopeful Book About Disappointment

Everyone has dreams even if they can't always put them in words, and some of our dreams have to die. We have to grieve over these losses almost as if they are friends that are gone but we have to find a way to move on--to dream again. "Loss of a Loved One" helps point us in the right direction. It is an honest but hopeful book. The devotions are short but deep. "Had God simply chosen to remove all the pain, He would have had to remove all the sin and therefore all the sinners. He loves us too much to give us a painless world." Loss of a Dream pg.11 "Loss of a Dream" deals with the larger questions and takes us back to scripture for the hopeful answers.
A Book of Real Comfort

This book is short- but that is good because when you are grieving you haven't the energy to read anything long. The author shares her own story briefly but the bulk of the book is devotions. This is the most honest but hopeful book that I have ever read about grief. It is small enough to mail instead of a sympathy card.
