Felicity Douglas meets Garth Harfield after she witness's an accident. He is as we expect condescending toward Felicity. Telling her to go back to her car, when she is comforting the driver of one of the cars in the accident. Felicity ended up working for Garth's mother Lydia. Finding Felicity is the nurse his mother has hired, Garth becomes sarcastic trying to put Felicity in her place, even telling her he doesn't like bossy females. And swords are drawn. Lydia in wheelchair bound, and she hates it. Little by little Felicity convinces Lydia to sit in chairs without wheels on them. Felicity with the help of Stella Dawson soon finds Garth owns a chain of stores. And he seems to think he must be in charge of anyone in his orbit. From the back of the book: 'Felicity wanted his love-not his money. Felicity was eager to help Lydia Harfield regain the use of her paralyzed legs. Lydia's son, Garth, however, was the most arrogant, provocative man she'd ever met! Contrary to his suspicions, she'd never be interested in his money or his eligibility. That's why, after a few months, it became doubly important to hide her feelings. Garth would never believe she was head over heels in love with him for simply being himself.'
