"You just got baptized in the waters of TRUTH,"Longarm hissed.Do you see the light,or are you still

I don't know which one of the writers put this episode together for Tabor Evans;but he sure casts Longarm with a different personality. He has our hero stumbling from one slow-witted experience to the next. You gotta wonder if the writer has read enough episodes of the series to understand that Longarm just doesn't make the kinds of miscalculations we see in this saga. As you read this story, you get the feeling that our hero must be away on a long deserved holiday and a neophyte has been given this assignment to fill in for Curtis. Putting Longarm's real character aside,it is still not a bad storyline with a lot of fast-action shootouts and a string of intereting characters. It's a rare occasion when Longarm engages a local and makes him a Deputy US Marshal;and Longarm finally gets to pin on a Marshal's badge. And boy ,what a doozer he is .Longarm needs his help, but at times he is forced to act more as a social worker than a lawman;just for himself and his new Deputy to survive. Totally outnumbered in dealing with the Grand Canyon Gang, just wait and see what kind of a posse Longarm ends up with. Enjoyed this episode, nonetheless, but it's time to get our hero back to Denver, and have the writer for the next episode get him back to his real personality. I'll be curious to see if Longarm ever meets up again with this big Swede, who becomes the new Marshal of Flagstaff, and who won't go hungry if he and Big Annie decide to tie the knot. It would be interesting hearing Longarm explaining things to his boss Billy on his return to Denver.I can hear it now; "Curtis, would you just go over that whole business of travel expenses one more time, and not so fast this time."
