With tenderness and wisdom, Harriet Sarnoff Schiff writes about the feelings of isolation, fear, anger, and loss that are common to friends and relatives when a loved one dies.
I found this book in the library shortly after my husband died. For me it was a God-send. It offered a frank perspective of how I was feeling and that I was, and would be okay. There was something in this book for everyone...relatives, friends. It let me know that I was not the only one who was grieving. It explained how others felt and shared in my loss. Whenever I know someone has lost a loved one, it's the first thing I share...telling all how it helped me. I've given copies of the book to friends....suggest that churches, bereavevement groups provide to those in need. This book was a life-saver!
Gentle Guidance

I recommend this book highly. The advice is gentle and sound. No preaching. Those who are non-religious and those who are will find it helpful. Each stage of grief is explained. It would be excellent for anyone helping a friend or family member through this process.
