This title presents a comprehensive guide for those going to France to live, work, study or just to spend time in the country. Chapters describe working conditions, finance and insurance, public transport, accommodation and how to find a job.
This book gives us a good insight into living in France. Although we have often worked in France, we thought it might be interesting to have a fresh insight to living there. This helped us very much but we are still undecided at the moment and it really depends on the currency exchange i.e. Dollar versus Euro rate.
Tres bien!

Great introduction to lots of different aspect of the life in France. The only downside of covering so many different subjects is that it doesn't go into too much details. It is still a condensed version of the minimum you need to know before you leave the airplane.
Great reference book - moving to France

This is a great book packed with helpful information. If you are very familiar with France, however, you could probably skip over a few of the chapters. Otherwise, this book is a useful reference containing e-mails, addresses, websites and helpful numbers throughout. If you are seriously thinking of moving to France, I recommend this book. It will give you a good idea of what lies ahead!
*****Great Guid, Lots of Info*****

In This book "Living and Working in France", David Hampshire gave very helpful information and guidance regarding the various rules, regulations and the complex bureaucracy in France. I will be retiring in south France soon, and I needed all the guidance I could get regarding bringing an automobile and other household items, Visa and residency requirements, Taxation, Health care, etc. I've found this book to be very helpful and contain very valuable info and thorough answers to all the questions I have so far; it's going to be my reference for a long time to come. Well worth the price
Best of the bunch

I have read two other books in this catagory, "Living, Studying, and working in France", and "Live and Work in France" and this is the best of the three. The "Live and Work..." book is the worst. It is mainly aimed at UK residents moving to France. The "Living, Studying..." book is pretty good too, but doesn't have the concentration of good info as this book. Lots of contacts info for jobs, paperwork, etc. Very thorough. The one thing I wish it had was more about the internet access and contacts for that.
