Not the version advertised.

I wanted this for the beautiful cover advertised but it came with a standard cover that was also incredibly damaged

Abridged edition

Abridged, children’s edition. I will keep it for my children, but it was not what I expected.

I never received the book in my order.

Never received my order. This is my first order, not a good experience so far.

Not Full Book

I didn’t notice the other reviews before purchasing, but like the others I received a condensed children’s copy - not the full adult version.

Do not buy from seller

Same thing as most people are saying, incorrect book version was sent and it was smaller shorter version, do not buy from this seller

Read The Reviews!

I really wish I had read the other reviews of this particular title...I didn't realize until months later (when my daughter pulled it out for school) that this was a child's version of the story and not the original. There's no way to tell from the description or title. Frankly the fact that it is a junior version needs to be in the title of this item so it is CLEAR. I'm thankful that it was only $4 lost, but now I have to go back and find the book I need and wait for it to come in.

NOT the version I ordered.

They really need to step up quality control. I ordered the one that was supposed to have pictures from the motion picture (as pictured and what the description said), instead I received a completely different version with some old drawings in it. Very disappointing and false advertising. Not happy

Little Women

Sent me the junior version 😕

Little Women CHILDREN’S VERSION

The 1 star is off putting and don’t get me wrong I adore Little Women but I ordered this book and I am 15. I thought I was going to get the regular version but I got the children’s version. I am deeply disappointed and I can’t return it due to an email change. Please double check if you are looking for the regular little women.

Wrong edition

Received the wrong item.

Received the Correct Book!

I was nervous to order after reading the reviews of so many shoppers receiving the junior edition, but happily, I received the correct, original, unabridged, adult version of the book! In fact, this printing actually includes the original verbiage, misspellings, and grammatical errors that Alcott penned, rather than the corrected version that was popularized in subsequent years.

Sent Me a Children's Book

I usually have good luck with this site, but when I ordered this, I was shown a picture of the full text, but was sent an abridged children's book version in the mail. Buyer beware with this title, unfortunately.

Enjoyed it as an adult

This is a good read for adults to read along with their children (upper elementary or middle school). I think parents should read it with their children as it deals with the topic of death.

Not what I was expecting

Was sent a children's version not the book I was expecting.

Not what I ordered

I should have read the reviews. I ordered a 1932 version of Little Women and got a 1950’s version. I looked at the HELP tips and it says they don’t guarantee the item to be the same as in photos and that all photos are stock. Ok, fine I guess, that’s not my problem. I’m purchasing an old book for a reason, and an 18 year difference is kind of a big deal. It’s meant to be a gift for someone else. I’m very unhappy.

Not as shown… I should have read the reviews!!

this is the first negative review I have ever written. I should’ve known better. It shows what looks to be like a leather bound book of little women number one in the series however what I received was a children’s version. I am not happy and I will not ever order from the seller again specially after reading the other reviews. Buyer beware!

One of my Favorite Books of All-time!

The beginning journey of the March Sisters is such an endearing tale, as are the books that follow this one. A perfect read for Christmas, that I have re-read every year since I was a child! (I did mistakenly order the illustrated classic designed for children instead of the normal one - which made me sad, though it is a pretty edition of the book. Just be cautious of this when ordering.)

Little Women

I did not receive the book that was shown on website. I received what looks like a school copy from a library, not the floral cover as shown.

Not what I wanted

I was looking for the classic Little Women Novel but this one misinformed me and I was given a children’s book instead!

Not the copy I expected...

I received an ugly children's version of the book instead of the elegant hardcover pictured. Very disappointed and it looks like I'm not the only one...

A classic!

Everyone should read (at least once that is).

A great classic

A great classic read. The quality is better than I was expecting it to be.

Not the correct book

The book was not the adult novel, I received a child’s version. It has pictures, large text and small chapters. Very irritating.

Sent me a children's book...

The only problem I had with this product is that I ordered the original and they sent me the "junior classics" version.

Not what I expected

I had read some reviews that THIS book was the original one, but they sent me a CHILDRENS BOOK! DO NOT BUY. Maybe it was my mistake, but if you want the original buy it elsewhere.

Wrong edition

Received a condensed edition with illustrations meant for ages 7+. Not what I thought I was getting. I wanted the original classic novel.

NOT What I Was Expecting

The picture provided led me to believe that it was the classic (chapter book) and I could not confirm otherwise as there is no description, but it is an illustrated copy for children retold by Jane Carruth. It also has a copyright of 1982, not 1900 as is listed. My children might enjoy this, but it is NOT what I was expecting or wanting.

Not happy

The book I purchased did not look like the one I received. I purchased it thinking that I was getting a hard cover that was maroon with intricate detail on the front and instead I got a random cover that looks nothing like the description. Not happy.

This is a MUST read!!!!

This is such an amazing book about values and life lessons. The characters are so loveable and it’s the type of story I could re read over and over again. Give it a chance. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely edition of the classic

I love the novel and have been given several copies over the years, but I actually bought this edition. I love the Barnes and Noble classics series! The text is highly readable and easy on the eyes (while maintaining elegance), and the covers are well bound and lovely for a paperback. Highly recommended!

Little Women~

In Little Women, you will meet the March sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth & Amy who live with their mother, Marmee, and their maid Hannah, during the Civil War. The first half of the novel takes place while their father is away, serving in the war. Each sister has a distinct personality, a reader, an artist, a musician, the quiet one. You will get to know this family in touching little stories of their daily life. Each chapter seems to set up a moral lesson for the reader to learn. We also meet a wonderful set of neighbors, Mr. Laurence and his nephew "Laurie" who quickly find a place as part of the March family. The second half of the novel, focuses on the girls as they leave their childhood and begin their journey into adult life. Lessons of friendship, family, and love are covered as we join the characters through the ups and downs of life, good times and bad. It seems that Louisa May Alcott used her own family as the basis for the stories in Little Women, basing the character Jo on herself. It is amazing how though the book was written in the late 1800's, so many things about humans remain the same. The foundations of life that are important in friendships, family & love don't change through time, as Alcott has shared with us. This is a book that young and old can read and appreciate.

A heartwarming story!

Little Women is one of my favorite books of all time! In this heartwarming story about four sisters growing up during the Civil War, I have learned so much about the world around me, and ironically, myself. It tells of how people can choose to live their lives and how happiness can be found even through hardships. The Marches are a picture of a happy home - with brave and moral Father, who has gone into the army to do what he can for the North's cause, and kind, caring Marmee, who watches over her girls with gentleness and love. Then, there's the little women: sixteen-year-old Meg, who's pretty and mature; rough-and-tumble Jo, determined to become a famous writer; timid Beth, always putting others before herself; and spoiled Amy with her artistic talents. There's also their amiable neighbor, Theodre Laurence (Laurie). Join in on the fun and read all about Amy's trouble at school, Jo's precious book being burned, Meg going to "Vanity Fair," Beth's tragedy, and so much more! I highly recommend this book for guys and girls of all ages! No one can resist this incredible story!

Mujercitas is a good book for family and friends to enjoy!

Mujercitas really made me wonder about the opportunity we all have to live a life full of joy. Made me also wonder how come most of us do not apprecite and value this opportunity given. With this book I have decided that I will, even if others don't, that's up to them. In addition, made me think about the family I once had and with a little more forgiveness, It could return to me. Read the book, if you are into the sentimental type, but if you are Stone-Cold don't waste your time!!!.
