Charmingly different

My toddler received this as a gift from Japanese friends and I've been reading it aloud at least once a day (usually more often!) since then. The text is gently humourous and simple, the illustrations cute and the style to my mind is refreshingly different from many familiar Western children's books, offering a nice change of style and pace from our usually toddler fare. I heartily recommend this to any parent looking for a sweet story for younger children, or a funny and cute introduction to a different culture for slightly older children.
