helps you focus on what is important

This is a wonderful book. It is a joy to read. It helps to make you think of more important things than just focusing on external beauty. The author has some excellent recommendations for further reading at the end of the book. I've already read many of them- two of my favorites are the Mass Market Woman and Choose to Live Peacefully. Lit from Within will help any woman feel better about herself and her life.

Bursting with basic truth.

Last evening I purchased Victoria Moran's book, Lit from Within, and started reading it in the car coming home (my husband was driving). The book is so engaging that I kept reading after we reached home, reading over half of it last night. This morning I finished it. Lit from Within is one of those rare books one can't put down. (At least I couldn't.) Now, that says a lot about a book. I'm not at all surprised at the report that it is selling very well. In my opinion, Lit from Within is bursting with basic truth translated into practical daily applications. The principles are clear, and as with so many basic principles, they often need to be translated and customized for the moment. Victoria gives excellent guidance for the reader to be able to do this. The title is wonderful! Most of us don't know or remember we have a "within," the beautiful true Self that is reflected (when allowed to) in the without. Victoria has enhanced and emphasized that point so well in the book. In fact, it runs as a golden thread throughout the entire book: a real plus! The physical size, shape, and cover color and illustration are so perfect, nicely reflecting the beauty of the book's message. And the format of the text is great, very readable. The content is truly elegant, inspirational and practical at the same time. I'm so impressed with the chapter about water. Water is so important. That chapter is a brilliant addition, as is the one about air. Water, air, so basic that we don't think about them, but as Victoria so superbly relates in so many words, we should think about them. By the way, men could get a lot of good tips from this book, simply by translating "beautiful" to "handsome."That Victoria was invited to appear with Oprah is so "right." She and the book deserve that attention.I couldn't recommend Lit from Within more highly. It is beautifully written, inspiring for all, and would especially make a lovely gift for a mother to give her teenage daughter.

Such a wonderful book, truly inspiring...

I am a guy and I was given a copy of this book with a note of apology for the gift of a "girly" book. But I read it and the lessons within, full of warmth and wisdom, are applicable to EVERYONE. It's about self love, self acceptance and finding self worth in your day to day life.Victoria Moran writes with great insight and common sense, with a warm heart and a keen mind and this is a book I will treasure and give as gifts to all my friends, girls and otherwise.

Positively helpful

I once had the pleasure of running into the author, Ms. Moran at the New York City airport and we shared a cab. The ride to manhattan was the most enjoyable cab ride I ever had. The positive vibes Ms. Moran exuded, and the quality of our conversation left an indelible impression on my mind. So after reading her book, Lit From within, I now know how she has been able to reach that high level of living and thinking. I particularly liked her discussion on distinguishing between dreams and fantasies, her emphasis on regarding others as important and allowing others to be beautiful too. I strongly recommend this book to anyone wishing to bring more positivity and pure beauty into their life. A soothing book emphasizing intangible beauty marks

I love Victoria's newest book. Reading Lit From Within is like getting a front row seat at the counter of the world's most compassionate make-up artist. One learns early on in this book that beauty means more than what stares back at you from the full-length mirror. Beauty is more than what's hanging in your closet and beauty is more than how you've felt in the past about your looks. Victoria gently leads the reader through a self-exploratory journey that resonates with compassion, understanding, and hope. Victoria makes it clear that many of our questions about self-worth, authenticity, and self-love have more to do with how we feel and less to do with how others see us. This book is like a safe house for me. I read it whenever I need of dose of vitamin C for my soul. Read this book and eliminate from your self-talk any doubts about how beautiful you really are.
