Loved It!

This book was so good. I read it in one day. I couldn't read fast enough. Molly Conners is a receptionist in serious financial trouble. Kyle Ashton is her hot boss. There is a lot of witty sexual banter between the two. They both want eachother but she is staying away because he is the boss. Molly is forced to tell several little lies to hide her financial situation. I don't want to spoil the plot, but I will say at one point he fires her. With no place to go, she ends up "moving" in to one of his vacation homes, without his knowledge. And things heat up from there. This is a fun romance with very loveable characters. There is also a little "whodunit" mystery mixed in. There are several laugh out loud scenes. Very well written. My only issue with this book is that it failed to tie up a few loose ends. Nothing major.

Liplock is a keeper

Liplock by Susanna Carr is a delicious story. Intriguing characters, compelling story and one hot romance. Molly Connors has weaved a tale of lies trying to cover the mess her life has become. Once she gets a promised promotion she will right all wrongs. But before that can happened her sexy boss Kyle Aston fires Molly. Molly decides to hide out in one of her boss's unused homes. Kyle Ashton doesn't tolerate liars but he cannot seem to stop thinking about Molly. When the evidence is stacked against her, he is forced to fire her. Imagine his shock when he finds her living in his home posing as his fiancé. Kyle must play along till the important clients leave. Kyle tries to keep Molly at arms length but sharing a room really puts that plan to the test. Molly and Kyle connect in and out of bed. But will a pretend fiancé turn into something more.... Liplock is an unconventional Cinderella story. Molly is a delight, even though telling the truth is a problem for her you find yourself routing for her to come out on top. Liplock is funny, wickedly sexy and hot. Susanna Carr has scored another gem.

Read it in a day!

I was totally surprised when i closed this book. I couldn't believe how fast it went by and how disappointed i was to see it end! Not once while reading it did i feel the need to skim to the end to see how many pages were left or how many total there were in the book. I truly enjoyed both characters and i won't go into their situation cause the other reviewers already did so, but i did feel like i needed to write a review just to give it good marks as a really enjoyable, fun read. I will definitely be on the look out for more by this author, either past titles or future ones. Really, really worth the time to read. You won't even notice the time pass while you're flying thru the pages!

Quirky Fun!

White lies can come back to haunt you. Molly Connors is positive that she is getting a raise after she gets her performance review from her immediate boss Sara. After all, Sara thinks that Molly is a "trust fund baby". Unfortunately, Molly just cannot bring herself to tell Sara the truth: that the fancy clothes she wears are not really hers. Molly has a knack for getting into situations where, as a matter of self-preservation, she creates a "little white lie". Molly knows this will catch up with her one day, but she just can't seem to help herself. Molly swears that she will make good on every lie she has ever uttered. Gorgeous, hunky programmer Kyle Ashton, Molly's boss, sees his friend Glenn leaving the kitchen at work. Glenn has been having trysts at work but swears he would do nothing to harm the company. Kyle catches Molly exiting a cabinet in the kitchen and questions Molly about seeing Glenn. She makes up a story on the spot. Kyle knows Molly is lying and yet he cannot resist watching her. He is drawn to her enticing scent. When Kyle tries to get her to go out with him, she turns him down flat. Molly knows that getting involved with her boss is a recipe for disaster. Later Kyle asks where Sara is and Molly informs him that Sara is in a meeting. Kyle knows Molly is lying once more. Things at Aston ImageWorks get messy when Kyle and his team learn that someone is trying to steal the specs on a new computer program. They decide to set a trap. Molly is in total shock when Kyle finds the incriminating green file on Molly's desk. So instead of her expected performance review, Kyle utters the famous words, "You are fired". What can Molly do next? She decides to recoup by going to one of Kyle's houses he has not used in over a year. She tells the locals she is secretly engaged to Kyle. But when Kyle brings clients to his quiet retreat, he finds a fiancee' he did not know he had. Kyle immediately decides to keep Molly close and out of trouble. He will not let her out of his sight day or night. Will Molly be able to prove she did not steal the file? Can she stop her "white lie" habit? Is there a future for Molly and Kyle? Susanna Carr's Lip Lock is a wonderfully romantic story about two very diverse people. Molly is the quintessential con artist. It is a treat see how quick thinking she is. Kyle, on the other hand, has been betrayed in the past. He has a problems with trust, especially someone who has an affinity for "little white lies". I personally have a problem with people that lie as a habit, so it was hard for me to accept this quirk of Molly's. I could understand Kyle's fear of trusting someone like Molly. However, there is a real connection between them and Kyle and Molly are absolutely scrumptious as they burn up the sheets. Suzanna Carr has penned a well-crafted romance of a con artist at her best, so sit back and enjoy the show! I would recommend Lip Lock for those who enjoy wonderful quirky romances. Gene

Fun Break from the Holiday Rush

Take one con artist up to her ears in debt, add a wealthy computer executive, and give it a modern-day Cinderella twist to get Susanna Carr's Thanksgiving holiday romance, Lip Lock. The novel sets a whirlwind pace from page one when Carr introduces the unlikely heroine, Molly Connors, as she steals into the executive kitchen at her new workplace in search of an afternoon snack. She ends up stuffing herself into a cabinet to hide from an oversexed chief financial officer getting a little too friendly with his latest office conquest on the kitchen counter above her. Super-rich Kyle Ashton, the CEO of the large software company who has employed Molly as his assistant to his assistant, catches her climbing out from under the executive kitchen counter and the romance takes off. Kyle is so charmed by her constant zany behavior he breaks all his rules and dates her. Just when things start looking up for our hapless heroine, a set of stolen software blueprints appears on her desk and her odd behavior suddenly appears malevolent. Her steamy relationship with Kyle takes a sharp left turn when he fires her. Out of work, homeless, and with nowhere to go for the Thanksgiving holiday, Molly takes up residence in one of Kyle's many vacation homes, a mansion located on a small island in the Pacific Northwest. She explains her presence on the island by telling everyone that she's Kyle's fiancée. Perhaps a bit of a stretch, but why not? It's her Cinderella story. Everything heats up when Kyle arrives at the house with some important clients who happily greet his "wife-to-be". As revenge for her conning her way into his home and making him look like a fool, Kyle gives Molly the choice of continuing to play loving fiancée and provide his clients with an unforgettable Thanksgiving weekend or turn herself over to the police. Of course, playing lovers is an added benefit to the deal. Carr manages to address the serious subject how a few financial missteps can lead to homelessness without preaching or straying from the sexy banter between the hero and heroine. Despite her constant lying, I found myself rooting for Molly and her plight. And throughout the novel, the writing remained sharp and optimistic, making for one fun, quick holiday read!
