Terrible English translation!

Don’t bother with this book in English because its British English & the translation is strange & makes the text distracting. It comes across as witless & without nuance. The appropriate colloquialisms are lost. Instead we get these jarring sentences as examples: The water was less manky now. She gave a good clouting to stop you. One word from me & your future goes down the pan. She narrowly avoided being pulped. You just need to rock up. Go top yourself. And the list of weird phrases & sentences goes on. The characters aren’t likable. The writing in this form is poor. And I’m having a hard time continuing to read this beyond 50 pages! The story could be interesting but as it is in this English form , I don’t recommend it. Surely, it reads better in the author’s native French language. “Lost in translation “ .
