A look at life's big questions, and the answers, to be found in Judeo-Christian faith, written by a minister and a rabbi with years of experience working with young people.
Rabbi Jeff Astrachan and Pastor William Grimbol provide a wonderful exploration of the struggles and successes of all people. Each section focuses on a big question: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How, with one of the pastors writing a very accessible and uplifting discussion with the other writing a short response.Since both Rabbi Astrachan and Pastor Grimbol are from the liberal ends of their faiths, they rarely disagree. Much more common is a statement such as Grimbol writing, "Again, I find myself in agreement with most of what Jeff has to say. In fact...my main response would be, 'ditto.'"This isn't a book to find the conflicts between Judaism and Christianity or to compare the nuanced differences between the faiths. Rather it is a chance to value the common hopes and responses of two faiths when one faces life and death, pain and joy, or just in day-to-day living.Whatever your faith (or absence thereof), whatever your journey, everyone can find a valuable resource in this excellent spirituality and life primer.
