"For recounting the history of America's first "road trip" is a good way to describe this book. 419 pages, heavily illustrated with maps and old photos, indexed. This book really fleshes out the narrative of Lewis and Clark's expedition with lots of detail on the geography, historical sites, and the Indians they encountered. Some information on what the other men on the trip did later in life. A necessary book for anyone who would like to retrace their steps. Published by the Jefferson National Parks Assn.
