Darby Checketts the Motivator

I'm especially impressed by the contagious enthusiasm in reading Darby's book, and the tremenduous images one can create of goal completion and personal fulfillment. Of special interest was the idea of getting out the book that is within you. I feel this read has helped motivate me to do that. No one could come away empty-handed from reading this book who has whole-heartedly considered its message. Mike McPheters, Moses Lake, Washington

World-Class Leverage

'Leverage' is a book I will refer to repeatedly for years to come. In it, Mr. Checketts showcases how The Archimedes Leverage Factor applies in every area of our lives. He brings home our ability to achieve our dreams and create excellence in the world around us, while maintaining that critical life-balance that results in true joy. I am enlighted by his wisdom and heart felt anticdotes which illustrated universal principles of good character and success. I highly recommend this book and plan to use it in my own coaching practice. 'Leverage' is a book I can give with confidence to those I teach and love. Thank you, Darby. I have officially added you to my list of personal Heroes and am anxiously awaiting your next book of wisdom. This is a great and important book.

I just finished reading this great book. Wow, what a fanstastic read. I am not a businessman, but I am in business. As a retired Marine and current Director of Technology for a university research organization, I have always had clues as to why I succeeded (or didn't) when working on different tasks. I'm as introspective as the next guy, maybe more so, but it can be difficult to pinpoint all the critical things that had to be driven or guided together in order to end up with a war-ready unit, good inspection results, or a well-received, synergistic technical plan. Mr. Checketts has reduced that problem for me with this book. The 25 points that he discusses are remarkably simple yet remarkably difficult to capture in retrospect or to apply in action. He has presented a uniquely uncomplicated framework for living -- not a checklist. This framework, once adopted, allows us to contribute to the success and betterment of my own self, you, and the rest of us in our community/society/country/world. Yeah, it's that good. I suggest loaning or giving this book to everyone you care about; leave several more lying around for the occassional interested bystander. They will all thank you for it.

Wrong Label

Darby's book Leverage is incorrectly labeled "Business/Motivation" on the inside of the front cover. It should have been labeled "Personal Motivation". Having read several of Darby's books and participated in his seminars at my company, I expected his interweaving of personal life with business goals and success. What I didn't expect was to read a book that was not about business. This book is about you. Are you the person you want to be and are you living the life you want to live? If not, this book will provide you the motivation to get on track.

Darby Checketts has simplified professorial ruminations

The Tipping Point was a great book that illustrated how small things can make a big difference in consumer choices. However, I felt it failed in applying the concept to the real world we live in. Darby Checketts picks up where Tipping Point left off and makes it an applicable and valuable concept for business owners like myself and marketing and sales managers in businesses of all kinds. I think you'll get a lot out of this book, particularly if you've enjoyed his Customer Astonishment book or have heard and enjoyed his speeches.
