I really have enjoyed the Leven Thumps series by Obert Skye. Most of the books I have finished I actually listened to, and I love the guy that reads them. He does such a great job and makes the books even more entertaining.
Loving Leven Thumps

I loved this book. I think it was better than the third. The author changed the way he wrote though and it caught me off guard, in a bad way. He started to write as if he knew the characters and had interacted with them. He also began each chapter with a page or two of random comments, very much in the Lemony Snicket style. Since the previous three books weren't like this, I was rather miffed. But the things he wrote were really funny and quite clever and I soon found myself enjoying them. I also loved the chapter titles. This book was really funny and had plenty of action. There were some interesting plot twists and the story followed a lot of different characters, not just Leven and friends. There was a touch of romance, which I thought was really sweet yet funny. Overall I really enjoyed this and was sad when it ended. I'm rather ticked that I have to wait another year or so for the next one. I hate waiting. Highly recommended. I think middle school through high school would really enjoy this series and thus far they've been really clean and not something I would hesitate to let them read. I also think any adult who enjoys 'fantasy' or 'young adult fiction' would like the series. *taken from my goodreads review
Best Leven Thumps Yet!!

I have read over 200 pages of this book in just a few days - it is that good. The Eyes of the Want was quite slow and very depressing but this one is more energetic and fun - similar to the first book in the series. I love the story line of Foo and the characters. They are all so different but they all connect in such a way that is magical yet down to earth. I'd really like to see this series be a movie someday. Thanks Obert Skye - you are a great writer.
Another wonderful visit to Foo

I am so sorry to think of how underappreciated these books are. I know these get great reviews, but they still seem rather hidden to me. Ah, well. A secret gem. "The Wrath of Ezra" is one of the most satisfying and enjoyable reads I've had in awhile. Hooray! This is where the arc of the story is beginning to show. Lines are drawn, sides chosen, with still plenty of enjoyable surprises. There is less exploration of Foo, but this does not disappoint me as it seems that Skye is truly comfortable with this world. The combination of passionate creativity and zaniness continues to be incredible. I believe this book shows how much Obert Skye has grown has a writer. I think that in prior books I had complained about writing--nothing to whine about here. He tells his Foo story with pleny of imagination and serious fantasy with plenty of humor and randomness that is somewhat reminiscent of Lemony Snickett. "The Wrath of Ezra" is a thoroughly wonderful book full of creativity and laughs. A fine tribute to the "Leven Thumps" series.
