Book Overview

In an earnest and searing wake-up call, the author of the bestseller Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy warns of the haunting similarities between today's American church and the German church of the 1930s. Echoing Bonhoeffer's prophetic call, Eric Metaxas exhorts his fellow Christians to repent of their silence in the face of evil before it is too late.

"Silence in the face of evil is itself evil.
Not to speak...

Garbage

Eric's inflammatory insistence that Christians rise up as one to "take back America" is both unBiblical and unsettling. The effects of such disobedience will persist long after the 2024 election is over, no matter who wins. No where in scripture is the Church called to take part in politics, no matter how much twisting of the Bible is spewed forth by the spiritually naive.

Searing. Profetic. Current.

Metaxas hits it out of the park. Every Christian needs to read this. It cuts across denominations to the heart of our current cultural church and state crisis, by comparing America to what happened LESS THAN 100 YEARS AGO in Germany!! He shows us what is ahead if we just stay meek and comfortable. We are doomed to a repeat of history if we don’t wake up, learn, pay attention, and act.

Absolute must read. He's so right.

Just read it. History repeats itself because of the ignorance of the modern man.

Eric is a modern day prophet…

Metaxis is right-on with the current parallels between the silent Christian church of Nazi Germany and the Christian church of today in America who bows to the secular mob that tells Christians to keep their faith to Sunday’s only. There is no such thing as a “part-time” Christian. “Silence in the face of evil is in itself evil…”. Christian pastors must be willing to take the slings and arrows for their faith, they have willing followers throughout their churches.
