My godson's favorite Christmas present

I'm Portuguese, and my godson is half Portuguese on his Mothers side. However, he's a bit reluctant to learn Portuguese, even though his maternal grandparents speak it around him all the time. I purchased this to try to get him to at least learn the basics. The book ended up being a big hit at Christmas. When the entire family got together we all ended up taking turns reading the book...there are still some words that I don't use and that I didn't know, and a lot of the other family members were in the same boat. It turned out to be my Godson's favorite Christmas present. This is a very quality book and I'm sure anyone purchasing it will not be disappointed. In fact, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised as I was at how entertaining this book is when you thought you were just buying a reference book.

This book is a great way to begin to teach children the Portuguese language or to even brush up on it for themselves. The pictures seem to make it easier to retain new words.

I was actually looking for a "story" book that my 3 year old could share with her Portuguese speaking grandfather. The recommended age for this book was 9-12 but I decided to get it anyway. THIS BOOK IS NOW HER FAVORITE BOOK!!! She loves trying to find the items in the big "scenario" picture. She knows the English word so I tell her the Portuguese word and she repeats it while looking for it in the picture. I'm even learning new words!! I'm planning on buying another one for a backup so that she can use it when she starts school!! I'd definitely recommend this book for all ages!!
