Captivating. Makes me want to get into that business. There were strong women in the story and the usual dumb bitch or two. I loved it. Gwendy Marshall

Well Now!

Let's Get it On by Jill Nelson is the long-awaited sequel to Sexual Healing. LaShawanda Pierce, one of the owners of A Sister's Spa, has just won a lawsuit and a considerable amount of money. Immediately she decides it is time to open another spa, but this time in a boat off Martha's Vineyard. It is pretty easy to convince her partners, Acey Allen and Lydia Beaucoup. However, there is a problem. A Sister's Spa is located in Las Vegas and provides sex for pay for women. On the other hand, sex for sale is illegal outside of Las Vegas. Of course, that will not stop the women from going forth. It will simply force them to become more savvy. Let's Get it On is filled with sex, sex and more sex. However, what I found most interesting were the back stories. One, in particular, is a political effort by the president to enact a program called, No Child, No Behind. The premise is that sex should be for procreation and not recreation, thus no child, no behind. Of course, that creates a problem for the proprietors of A Sister's Spa. And while I found myself laughing out loud at the concept, I also found myself thinking about it. Ms. Nelson does a wonderful job of providing us with a fun, summer book that will make us think at the same time it entertains. I recommend Let's Get It On to all who enjoy sexy, funny, well-written books with empowered women. Angelia Vernon Menchan APOOO BookClub

A Great Summer Read! Worth the Wait!

Ms. Nelson delivers in Marvin Gaye's Song titled second book. Acey, Wanda & Lydia are at it again! This time the setting turns to Martha's Vineyard and the Black community that exists there. This story will have you laughing out loud if you dare to read this book in public - as I did. Can politics get a ridiculous as "NO CHILD - NO BEHIND"? I bet it could. What do I love most about Ms. Nelson besides the wonderful humor she has and the toe curling sex that she tastefully writes? I love the way Ms. Nelosn delivers the message about women: We can be strong, successful and we can also unify and celebrate our sexuality. Women want to be satisified sexually too! There is a constant message of empowerment throughout this story. Thank you Ms. Nelson!

upbeat message

After the success of their Reno brothel and spa (see SEXUAL HEALING) LaShaWanda P. Marshall, Lydia Beaucoup and Acey Allen decide to duplicate their achievement off of Martha's Vineyard. Once again they offer their wealthy female clients "multiorgasmic" sex without the complications". While Acey with Odell assisting her runs the Nevada spa, they set up a luxury floating spa on a yacht off the Cape Cod shore just outside the United States legal limit. They turn to the black community of Lydia's upper class society godmother Ma Nicol for support as they run into objections from a mobster who demands a piece of the action and groups fostering racism and sexism. Their star performer is Afrodonis who make the ladies salivate. However, making matters even worse is the fundamentalist president calling for a law "No Child, No Behind" that outlaws sex unless a married couple tries to produce an offspring. The second homage to Marvin Gaye continues Jill Nelson's upbeat message encouraging women to appreciate life by living and loving to the fullest to include seeking sexual satisfaction. The story line is over the top of Afrodonis' staff just the way we like it as LET'S GET IT ON is fun to read with its refrain of sex, sex, and more sex. Although the abstinence crowd will beat the bushes to ban this tale, Ms. Nelson makes a case that sex and politics share the same key element: someone is screwing someone else. Harriet Klausner
