I think this is an excellent book, really makes a bold statement about the importance of trusting children when it comes to food. However, I think that it could backfire simply because in the midst of this great argument about how damaging it is to over control food, there is a ton of information about how many calories, vitamins, minerals, and how much fat kids could be expected to take in ... which I think the folks who over control food in the first place would probably use to create MORE rules for themselves and their children. It could be very easy to read this book and ignore all the times that they explain that the daily guidelines are simply that, guidelines based on averages, which have almost nothing to do with the actual day to day needs of each individual child.
