Lessons for Economies in Transition: The Case of Elgeyo Marakwet County (EMC), Kenya

Between the beginning of December 2018 and mid-January 2019 I spent most of my time interacting and conversing with, mostly, residents of Elgeyo Marakwet County in Kenya, where I was born and brought up. I tried to engage at least 40,000 of them every day on the social media by making short but informed submissions about pertinent issues concerning them and their county government. That attempt was my way of coming to terms with the realities of what undermines development in most developing economies, especially in Africa.
